Don't know about those r8, but the Alpinestars Bat leather pants are comfortable- they run small though.

I don't need the super racer look but just a comfortable pair of leather pants. These look like they would work.

I here yah. I have wear the Alpine Bat pants too. These don't have sliders and have padding in all the right places. Ive been riding for 25 plus years and went down for the first time last summer in a corner @ 60+ mph. Knee and helmet hit first, then slid along ways down the payvment before ending up in a barbed wire fence. The Padding, steching & wieght of the leather saved my a$$. Not trying to tell you whats best for you, but I wouldn't get caught with out them. (unless a females envolved

I had zero road rash every where there was leather although I did fracture a vertibrea and missed up the joint between my back and my pelvis. Good luck making a decession.
