airbox seal mod idea??

its one of them days looking at bike parts that i cant afford, and i was looking at airbox seals, and i came across an idea in my head, why not use heat shrink tubing on it?? i dont see why this would be a problem, need to take off your airbox? slice it then add more......

sounds like a pain....and would need HUGE heatshrink....

well i found 2 inch on ebay i bet that would work, they had some bigger stuff too, yeah but i dont want to deal with the mess if i ever need to change my plugs or anything
