Airbox insides, little metal thing?

I just re-installed my airbox after changing the plugs. When a took the airbox off I took out the metal round thing that has the little metal prong on it out. Half turn, it popped out, half turn and its back in. Is the little metel prong facing the correct direction? it seems to touch the flapper when it closes, I didnt look at it before hand to see its orentation. Thanks Org-ers

It hooks onto a small loop/hole on the flapper.

Small Airbox mod = Get rid of flapper and either keep the metal valve on the bottom of the airbox to seal the hole, or remove the metal valve and seal the hole by glueing on a piece of the flapper to the bottom.

If you have a full exhaust system, why do you still have the flapper installed...? ???

Remove it and release some power...
