a question for anyone who has had their mirrors off.

its snowing outside right now and my garage is not attached to our house, so its cold out where my busa is, i don't want to go screwing with the bodywork right now. my question is, does the mirrors act as support for the upper or can you take them off with no problems to the upper while riding, my buddy has some lockhart carbon fiber mirrors for sale for a good price.

They remove easily. Pull the boot back (at the base) and unbolt them (two screws each) - the retaining threads and structure is captive. You do not need to remove any fairings. The mounted mirrors provide no structural support to the best of my knowledge.

I remove them when I ride at the track and have no problem. (ride to the track, pull them off (5 min), ride all day, put them back on (5 min) and ride home.
