A little vaporized piston

Just wanted to post these pics of my hayabusa pistons and head.  The bike broke down last summer on a hot day in August.  Its a 2000 with a stage 1 kit.  I ran the bike the 2006 season and most of last season without a hitch.  Before that the bike was bone stock with 15k on the motor.
Some things to note are the bike had never been on a dyno after installing the turbo so the map was not set up right.  I knew the risks and was planning on some upgraded internals eventually anyway.  Not sure if its visible in the pics but the exhaust valves are basically painted with piston material.  Thought that was interesting.  I plan on installing a set of JE turbo pistons with the block spacer of course.  What are the stock rods capable of handling hp wise.  Planning on around 350hp in the future.  Sending the head and possibly the block to Millenium Tech for repair and replating on the block.

I ran 340 hp for a year on stock rods, results can vary LOL. Rods need replacing before pistons, i have carillo rods now with stock pistons and made 461 on the dyno, haven't had it that high on the street, most times about 16 psi on the street, but have been as high as 22-23 psi in the upper gears on race fuel.

I had the same thing happen to me last year. Just didn't look that bad. I sent my head down to Cooper Performance in GA. They did an excellent job and had it back in a week. As far as the block you may want to contact APE. They did a stock cylinder exchange for my block. Save a good bit of money. If you want any more info, PM me.

I have done that with my race car motors those pics bring back nightmears LOL

I think I'm sending both the head and the block to millenium technologies here in Wiscaaaaansin. I spoke to a gentleman there and he said my block might need to be welded before it can be plated. He said once the cylinder plating is penetrated and it hits the alumminum it's required in order to get a smooth surface for the plating. Anyway he said that its cheaper to do a bore and replate. So I'm thinking of a JE 1363 turbo piston kit.

I've read many posts on this forum and others that its not a good idea to run a big bore turbo. If not why would JE make overbore turbo system if it cant be done. Perhaps I'm recalling stroked bikes and turbos not being a good idea. Anyway let me know if anybody thinks its possible. I'd like to go this route unless its a bad thing waiting to happen. Let me know folks.

1363 turbo pistons is a good setup
the 1397 turbo pistons is a little thin walled for some peoples liking

the 1363 is done in alot of race bikes and is liked by quite a few
it creates a little more lowend torque too

Thanks for your opinions, I think thats what I'll do. Its not going to see alot of boost,(nothing over 10psi) so hopefully with some proper tuning this time around I have some sucess.
