There seems to be a bunch of "quality" [?] vineyards popping up around here. Sumerset is one of the more popular ones, as they do Friday night live music and wine tastings, as well as some sort of "stomp the grapes" party or something.

I picked this up at the Des Moines Farmers Market in downtown court avenue district. It's every Saturday 7am to noon. I go every saturday as an excuse to ride, eat breakfast, and oogle attractive yuppy girls in sweats. Pets are welcome

You just missed the big Wine Fest 2007 in downtown last week.

Iowa has the most movie screens per population, all our restraunts are jammed on saturday nights, and now vinyards are popping... we have nothing better to do than eat, drink and be merry? ? ?

I'm not a wine afficionado only able to BARELY tolerate a Riesling, but I'll let you know what it's like later this week

I've BEEN to Iowa, spent a month once when I was 18- the most exciting thing for scenery is a friggin WHEAT SILO for God's sake, how much excitement can you stand?!?
