600 steering dampener oil weight?

Anyone know what the factory oil rating is? I did the mod when i got my 600 new and gonna put it back almost stock. I did the mod with 40 wieght and it was really really stiff, then backed it down to 30w.
Am i correct in saying stock is 5w? I just put 10w-40 back in it and its much much easier to turn the bars, just wanna make sure i didnt go less than factory. Im not sure since i never rode the bike with a stock dampener in it.

10w 40 has at least a 10w viscosity. it depends on the temp.

I would but im selling the bike and not putting any more $$ into it. Just wanted something a little lighter so nobody would think there was a problem in the steering.
