Hey Guys, hoping you can help.
I just pulled and refitted my rear wheel to allie a repaint. I removed the caliber hanger etc in the process to clean. I was fastidious in laying parts out as they came off ( or so I thought). During the reinstall I found a little red spring that I’m hoping is from another project or something random. I have noticed a little knock from the Caliper mount as I apply the rear brake while it’s still on the stand. I’m thinking the spring may be designed to stop the “slap” as I apply the rear brake but even after finding the spring I could not locate where it belongs.
I have attached a couple of pictures of the spring with the last giving an idea of the actual size.
Any help would be appreciated.

as far as i remember no rear caliper has such a spring (just like the front) neither gen 1 nor 2 .
so i guess it is from somewhere else

lill hint aside - clean all the bottom of your work area before you start a new project.

i clean my bike bench everytime with a broom when a bike is ready and goes finally off the bench.

there is def. no spring like shown from @Aussie19Busa

and i guess he has no manual for his gen2

and sorry dear australian never fumble around at the brakes without the associated manual.

no matter what bike / car / truck or else you wanna fix !
