I took in my bike for the 600 mile service. They completed my recall. Fortunately, i didnt need the ignition switch replaced. The wiring harness was slight incorrect and they fixed that, stamped my vin# plate with a engraved notch and I am good to go.

Its a beautiful day here in KC, and it was a fun ride home. Wifey dropped me off, but I took the long way home.

I was at the dealership yesterday, to pick up my registration finally. Was talking to the Parts/Service guy, and he stated that they placed an order to parts equal to all the K8's they sold so far. They are on a 4 week backorder from Suzuki.

He said that they are not expecting very many bikes that need the actual parts, as all the current bikes in stock have been inspected, and are clean. And that the few customers who have already been in, have not exhibited any of the recall symptoms.

Was told to not worry too much about it. To ride the bike and enjoy. They thought that Suzuki was just be overly cautious because of the possible safety danger. I agreed.

I am going to pick mine up from recall service right now. Finally a sunny day here in Washington after weeks of rainy poop.

Took a week to get the part in for my ride and and hour to fix. But, it is all done.

Sounds like peeps have started the process of getting the recall performed. I'm at total piece of mind now.

Took her out of the dealership today and let her show me what she's capable of. Wow, I have to tell you after all the years of riding my 2000 Busa, this one is superior to its older sister.

The Baby Sister has arrived!!!! and she's vicious!!!

I think I would check with them again!! The recall states that if a bike has been ridden and the wiring is routed incorrectly they must replace the switch assy. with a part number that ends with an "A" and then route the wire correctly. I do not believe they can see the damage of the wires inside the switch.
If you have it in writing that they rerouted the wires I would hang on to that paperwork..

Of course they did not address a slight incorrect..

I had my bike in for new tires, the suzuki rep was there and I was told I couldn't have my bike back till the recall was done. I asked if the recall parts were in and they said that they had placed the order. I told them I will ride till they get the parts

Unless he is making your bike payment I would like to see him keep my bike. You would think that it would make sense to have recall parts at the shop before they even sent out the notice.....
