The 08 has the belly pan incorperated in the fairing. The gen-1 bikes had a seperate part that some people called a belly pan or a bottom wing just foreward of the rear wheel. A lot of custom versions of this are on the market using crome and laser cut kanji symbols. You must have seen something about one of these parts. ???

that is incorrect, the winglet / belly pan is a separate part. Some drag racers (like me) remove it and relocate the rectifier. I'm gonna hang on to mine in case I ever want to put it back on...
