2008 busa Maintenance

Is the 2008 busa pretty easy to maintain or do you have to be a motorcycle mechanic?
Im thinking of buying a 2008 busa within a month or soo and was just wondering about maintenance. Im kinda new to the motorcycle scene.

Im 44 year old mature 210 6' and know the brains are in your right wrist. Thanks people.

If you are mechanically capable, you will be allright for all maintenance needs. Just take your time. That goes for any bike. Taking fairings off on any year 'Busa is a bit of a pain, but done once you know what to do and how to not break any tabs, etc. Don't overtighten any bolts/nuts when working on the bike.

On another subject, you indicated that this will be your first bike. It's good that you are mature and intend to take it easy. The problem is your natural reflexes are all wrong for a bike. Your weight makes no difference. There are just so many chances to make a mistake - which may turn out to be costly and/or deadly. Please research this carefully. On top of everything, the bike is so smooth that it will seduce you into going too fast and beyond your control. There are a few riders on the board who got a 'Busa as their first bike, and seemingly are doing OK. However, keep in mind that not too many who go down on their first bikes as a 'Busa would advertise it.

If you decide to get a 'Busa eventually, take it really easy. Best of luck!
