200/50/17 rear tyre

i am running a 200/50/17 avon viper sport on the rear, and have found that the drive chain is rubbin the tyre. has anyone else had this problem and how have you sorted it without putting a new tyre on, as i cant afford to replace it.

you have something cocked it will fit and may look real close but it wont rub or touch you better re install it

I use to run that same tire. i had a slight rub on the chain guard. I switched to the Metzler M3 and the problem was solved. Much better traction in the turns too. I got a little better mileage out of the Avon but the harder compound didn't give me any confidence in the turns what so ever

Check your chain slack...if it is too loose, you can tighten it up a bit and that should solve the problem. Should be .8"-1.2" of play in the chain.
