1942 Mosin Nagant refinished abstractly ;-)

So my buddy attempts to refinish his Mosin..... However, he left the stain out in unheated garage over winter and apparently that makes the stain null & void as far as it's penetrating properties go. He gives it to me because he LOVES the job I did on mine. He said tho he wants somethin dark and that worked PERFECT for the idea I had. I'll reveal the secret stain later but guesses are welcome....

First is my Mosin with a modern UTG tri-rail scope mount and reworked bolt in satin finish to reduce glare
