180/60/17 ok in a pinch?

My rear tire out of nowhere just started showing a metal strip of belts/threads in the center of my rear tire on my 05 busa. I haven't the money to replace it but my buddy gave me a 180/60/17 could I use it for a couple weeks until I can buy the correct size?

I see no reason why it wouldn't fit......it will lift the arse up more than the 55 will so you might be quicker handling.....it would be interesting to see how this pans out......

Everyone goes to a larger tire so you are in new territory......

The tire should work, although not recommended.

You are stretching a tire meant for a 5 1/2” rim onto a 6” rim and your aspect ratio at 60, and the narrower tire will try to stress or pull the height down a tad. Means the casing might be a bit more stressed.

I would probably avoid high speed runs.

I’m figuring numbers only, you will only know how it works once you have tried.

Shinko 005 Advance Motorcycle Tire has anyone used them and are they good for the Busa, I like to ride hard in the curves will they hold.

Smoked plenty of 180 take offs while drag racing ~ and have been known to purchase a cheap o shinko from time to time *

this has been fine in the past. some people will run a 180 to try a flatter profile. you’ll be fine.
