08 still need the kick stand mod

almost dropped my 08 today, ya still need to do the kick stand mod

I've been reading about this issue on Gen I Busa's, but I sure haven't had any problems with my '08.

OTOH... I do take some amount of care to "kick" the stand forward after I descend it with my heel, but that's just latent habit leftover from my FJR and XX.

And I don't really mean "kick" as much as I mean just tap the stand leg "forward" (with the toe of my left boot) once it's deployed, just to ensure it's up against the stop tang. Again, this is just habit from my other bikes; maybe that's why I haven't had any close calls....

Tires get worn down! Lowered a bit, Load on the back, or a slight down hill and a Busa, Bandit I don't care what! with a little roll fwd! OH Sh!t its all bad from there!

And leave em in gear, It may save it from being wheeled away too. Just anough time to catch the bum's.

I have not done the kickstand mod and have never had a problem. I have always done as you guys say.
1. Never park downhill.
2. Always have the bike in first gear when parking.
3. As I get off the bike I have my toe on the ground right in back of the kickstand pulling on the handlebars to the rear.

O f course my bike is stock height and tire size.

Never had problem either.. just a habit to make sure stand is down and bike is up against the motor

You grind a section of the kick stand where it rest's against the stop, So the kick stand goes a little more forward causing the bike to lean a little bit more towards the left side. The bike is alot more stable afterward's! I ground about a 1/4 of an inch away!
