I am getting the timing retard taken off by getting an ecu flash rather then getting a tre. dont quote me here but i believe a tre just gives you 5th gear a/f and timing in gears through 1 to 4. An ecu flash takes away the timing retard plus a tune gives you proper a/f in 1st through 4th. An ecu flash saves alot of money imo just a little less adjustable on the fly

I have a GiPro ATRE, I have it set to off, and just use it as a gear indicator.

well for what its worth my 99 gen1 has a tre fitted & is a remarkable improvement to it , im sure i could achieve the same result with a pc & all the rest. But for a very low cost & a dyno ive got 169 bhp with me tre & a pair of slip ons

What about the gen1? A few ponys for $30 bucks? Hell a $600 set of cams is only worth a few ponys
