    Track Tools

Good morning! What are some suggestions of must-have tools for drag racing an almost stock setup? I am a novice that would drive to the track and practice as-is. I now have a truck and trailer to bring the bike race-ready. Thanks in advance.

    Sprocket Alignment

Well, after a few more rides, it seems like the bike adjusted on its own. The sprocket is centered and there isn't anymore chatter. I still need to install the new cush rubbers, but now I have confidence that I'm doing things right.

    Sprocket Alignment

Thank you all for the responses. I've added a couple of those tools to my wish list. I think I may have had a dumb moment. I'm taking small test drives around the neighborhood just to see if I can see new contacts on the sprocket. I'm breaking in a new BT016 on the rear and saw a TON of small...

    Sprocket Alignment

@VIPER i am checking for true alignment and not off the manufacture hash marks. This forum has a great write that I used. @sixpack577 I have the correct spacers and collars in place according to Clymer. I took the wheel back off to check again. Yes, it is a gen 1 2006 LE.

    Sprocket Alignment

@sixpack577 I double-checked collars and spacers and everything is there. I'm continuing my search and came across another motorcycle forum that mentioned that it's a possibility of old, shrunken cush rubbers. It seems likely in my case; 2006 with original rubbers. There is no dmg, but there...

    Sprocket Alignment

@HayaWakened Correct. When the wheel is aligned properly, the sprocket isn't centered on the chain.

    Sprocket Alignment

My manual doesn’t have a method on sprocket alignment when the wheel is aligned but the sprocket is more to one side. I’ve done a significant amount of searching across these forums and can’t find anything. Would any of the pros know how I can maintain wheel alignment WITH a centered sprocket...

Tyvm Bumble. It looks like there are a few options out there. I tried soapy water and that seemed to try too fast. Looks like I need to add this to my toolset.

    Bead Damage

Hayabusa4Life, I’m in the Jacksonville area. I definitely wouldn’t mind cruisin’, but I would like a different bike. I bought the Busa for drag racing. I have to accept losing the battle on this one and pay for installation, but will try again once my finances are back in good shape. While I...

    Bead Damage

Six, I did get a static balance with a set of weights. No matter how much prep, I botched the install. I think I will try it again, but not right now. I can’t afford another mistake like that until my finances get a little better. I moved from Vegas to FL and Im doing a LOT of routine...

    Bead Damage

Sixpack, I did consider using it for practice, but it would be better if I had a spare rim too. I haven’t made up my mind yet. Regarding “bites,” the videos I’ve watched and the articles I’ve read kept referring to very small increments (using the spoons) as “bites.”

    Bead Damage

Thank you both for the fast replies. This happened when attempting to apply small bites for installation. I thought I had enough lubrications and small enough bites. I think I need to let the pros install. I don’t want to mess another one up.
