I wish I knew what you fixed. I have the same issue. Have had it for a year now. Even when the clutch is worn out and the pack is short it still drags. New clutch, still drags.
Just on a rear stand. Start the bike, click it up to 6th and let it idle. The noise in 5th is quieter than 6th. And 4th is quieter than 5th. etc...
I took some slack out of the chain. I am about to take a ride on it. I'll post the info afterward. It seems to be quieter under load than...
It is laying on the plastic a bit. I had heard that an issue with a 16 is the small gear makes the chain get closer to the swingarm. The wheel is square.
The chain has about 2000 miles on it. But they are hard drag racing miles. What damage can I cause with the clicking chain?
I am trying out a 16 tooth front with a 45 on the rear. When on a stand in 6th gear it wines real loud. In 1st and 2nd it sounds like a ten speed. But 6th it sounds like a gear drive. As I loosen the chain it gets quieter, but then I get chain slap.
I am coming from a 17 where there was no...
Does it matter what class I sign up for? The AMA registration wants me to pick a class and a number. The number for SET is 3000+ and the number for SF is 1000-3000.
Thanks for the info.
I am going to run Montgomery event in June. I have never raced AM drag, but raced CCS for 4 years in the 90's. I mention that just to show I have racing event knowledge of tech and procedure.
Could anyone help me get started on information about what class I should run and some info on...
I am going to try a 17 sprocket and see if that helps. I have a feeling that it will take more torque off the line if it has a little less gear.
Thanks for all the replies.
Alright I f'ed my gearing up. I am 2 down on the front and 3 up in the rear. So ignore my first statement. I thought stock was 19, i think that's pre 2008.
My gearing is 16/46. I know that's a lot different than my first statement. Now my 60's look even worse.
The bike is lowered and strapped...
The last three times I have been to the track I have run 9.30-9.38 about 50 times in a row. If I was bracket racing I would be the champ. But my issue is my 60' is 1.53-1.56 over and over. Even when I really hit it and carry the front end through first gear (at 64 inches long) it is still 1.55...
I think the Tsukigi sounds better than the AH because of the deep loud tone, but i think the AH will turn better numbers on the track. What is more important to you?
I own the Cannon and love the sound!
My bike was perfect until i did the clutch mod. Now it does what you described. I just got used to it. I'm going to put in the Brocks cushion and see if that helps.
