Mine is an 04 my sons is the 99. Really don't want a bike payment again that's why I'm searching for motor options. I don't take it to the drag strip just some green light runs every now and again when my son and his friends think I'm to old to ride with them.

Well the motor in my bike has spun a bearing. Lined up to race my son (99 busa) a couple of r1's. Half a bike ahead off the light shift to second and it shuts off. Now that the motor is shot what should I do motor wise? The most I can spend is $4k.

It has new plugs in it with maybe 20 miles on them.

This is a 99 with yoshi slip ons and k&n. It was running crappy so i replaced the fuel pump, filter, screens and orings. The bike ran great for 10 miles then started running sluggish again. I have worked on cars for years and tried some car tricks on the bike. I started the bike with the tank up...

I have 99 and need a spring that goes inside the fuel pimp housing that holds the fuel filter in place.

do you have to use 3 1/2'' or will 4'' or 5.25'' fit?

just wondering cause i replaced the pump and it wouldnt start took it to the shop and all they could tell me is that its either the fuel pump or the regulator. i told him the fuel pump is brand new. so i was guessing maybe the regulator could be bad. how can you check them.

Are the fuel pump regulators a problem on the 99

Thats a sweet bike, its extremely clean. was it stored in a climate controled garage or in the house?

Wait a minute so your telling me the pressure from the fuel wont push the air out? now that you say the the bike acts like it wants to start and sputters for a second but wont catch. ill give that a try.

pump primes so there has to be fuel to the injectors correct? ive retraced my steps several times and havent found anything different. what would stop the injectors from from spraying fuel?
