Map and I took the family out yesterday for our second trip to the desert. I had been hearing about Burro Schmidt tunnel and wanted to check it out. 1/2 mile tunnel dug in solid granite by one man over 30 some odd years. There are miles and miles and miles of trails, roads, and places to ride out here. A few pics, loaded up and ready to go, and unloading on the main road. Its 8 miles from this point to the tunnel site.

Definitely need an aftermarket kick stand. Learned a few things today on this bike that are counter intuitive on a street bike. Thanks to map for sending some of the pictures I uploaded. We will be heading back out on Sunday morning so Juli ride her bike.

So can you ride the bike through the tunnel? Couldn't tell if it was tall enough to ride though.
I assume no lights. Can you see from one end to the other?

Interesting - thanks for posting.

I agree on a kick stand. All my dirt bikes had them as I just didn't feel right about laying them on the ground without crashing.

Thanks for posting the pics.
I love places like that.
Away from the city and with a bit of history.

Good post.

I make it standard practice to fall off the bike and crash at least 4 times every time I hit single trail. ATGATT, knee pads, elbow pads, shoulder plus chest and back protector and a waist belt. Learnt the hard way.

Yep, feels much better when you crash with all that stuff on(been there, done that, a lot).
I know a guy that got thrown from his 4 wheeler at low speed a couple years ago, he was riding with some of my friends at the time.
They said the crash was no big deal, and that he would have gotten right up and kept riding, had it not been for the baseball size rock he landed on. That shattered his right knee cap.
Had he had on knee pads, he probably wouldn't even have felt it.
They have saved my knees many a time.

Yes sir,
Get the standard motocross style, the ones that fit under MX pants.
They usually only strap around above the knee, and tuck into the top of MX boots.
