I think the other night a thought crossed my mind, what if my wife wanted our daughter to be a model like this?...and then shrugged it off thinking no I wouldn`t be married to someone like that, because it`s not NORMAL...and yes as has been mentioned lacks MORALS.
Do you suppose there were little girl models like this 40 yrs ago?...just say`n..peoples moral standards have dropped considerably in that amount of time...me thinks.

I feel that one of the worst crimes a developed country can do is take from children their childhood. In an age of instant information and easily accessed adult material we need to be steadfast in allowing our children to be innocent and children as long as possible. We owe it to our ancestors who worked and developed the country to a point where kids don't need to work to help the family. Let them be kids.

The sad thing is, in 10-20 years this will be the norm. Think back 20 years to the things like this that made your skin crawl. Do you still feel the same now?

For instance, homosexuality and mixed race marriages. 20 years ago theses were very taboo in most areas but thanks to media outlets we have slowly become accustomed to it. Most places it is now accepted or overlooked.

The wife and I have talked about these types of things at length lately because of our grand daughter.

The parents need counseling.

They are living their lives through their children and not letting their kids be kids. No kid that young has the urge to dress like that. The parents are bestowing on them a very dangerous degree of self esteem and what beauty is thought to be.

Modeling, pageants, and any other displays like those should be left to adults 18 and over.

Extremely inappropriate. Children grow up too fast as it is, let them be kids. There's enough time and room for poor decisions on their one later in life, no need to give them a jump start.

My question is why are they on here??I dont agree with putting that kind of pressure on girls that age.I have 3 little girls and would never allow that.

Hate to tell you but society is already putting that kind of pressure on them. Why do you think a lot of women grow up with body image issues?? I know this next statement might not go over so well but how many links and comments on the .org are based on or about hot women? Little girls see this in magazines, TV and everywhere else. Already being "programed" to have to come across as hot and sexy in order to be wanted, accepted or loved. I totally understand the difference between the comments made here and the inappropriateness of have a 10 year old portrayed in this type of advertising, but this is just the observations I've made. I really hope I have not offended anyone.

I disagree slightly with this. I dont necessarily think people that were old enough to have opinions back then have changed their opinions of these types of things as much as they are not willing to voice their opinions freely for fear of retribution or scorn they would get publicly. The media and other stuff have made is more socially acceptable for children that have grown up over the past 20yrs.

I think with instant access to everything now days, the internet, gaming systems, tv shows, facebook, I feel that this is already happened. there is no division between grown up stuff and kids stuff anymore. kids see that their parents are doing the same things they are and really never grow up. Im seein that now with my step kids

I agree to a point. I agree totally with the part about the kids as I see it with my son that is 21 now.

This relates back to what cap was talking about unless I'm missing something. I wrote in my post that this was inappropriate IMO. Then I stated that some are trying to push child po rn as the norm. I never stated that the pix posted were porn and I never intended it to be taken that way. I've seen numerous post concerning this. maybe I could have posted better.

Dressing so sexy at that age will just lead to dressing more slutty all before the age of 16. They are to young to understand the difference between dressup and sexy, and where it leads. The first 2 are dressed up way beyond their years and understanding. The third one is implying that the young girl is without clothes, totally wrong.

I think, and could be very wrong but I do believe the 3rd picture is of Brooke Shields. If it is then it was almost 40 yrs ago so to answer your question...yes moral standards were just as low back then.

Don't forget that boys are put under this same pressures from society. People act as if this is something only the lady's deal with. But young boys are taught that you have to be cut chiseled body and be into sports and aggressive to be cool sexy or accepted.

This child pageantry isn't new by any means also this has been around since my grandparents generation. It was accepted then and now.

It is hard to comment on this because it is without a doubt in poor taste to circulate pictures of kids / minors in a seductive manner. Looking at another perspective I cannot walk around cedar point park (or disney) with my shirt off as an adult male. The third pic reminds me of christie brinkley as a minor in the movies. CK + other brands have pushed the use of minors in poor taste and have paid the price...in any case it is wrong.
