12v adapters

Does anyone here have any kind of a 12v adapter installed on there busa? Are they hard wired to the battery and a marine style?
I was thinking about intalling one before the bash but didn't know if there was a right way or things to avoid doing in order to not screw up the electrical system.

Most devices are protected, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to fuse the cigar plug just in case so the wire doesn't become the fuse. A battery is a heck of a source of energy.

Omslaw pointed me in the right direction on this one. Distribution block from Advance Auto Parts and the outlet was from Radio Shack.

get it from Autozone or Walmart it will come fuzed for about $5 take it straight to batt if you like.

The hardest part was removing the tail section cover...took about 20 minutes to figure it out. I think I paid under $15 for both the block and outlet.

Or if you dont need the block get a fused one like kaybusa says and just wire it directly to the battery.

I have had one similar for the last few years and it works great on trips, etc to charge my phone and ipod shuffle. erik

btw-battery tender makes a lot of accessories and the battery hook up is only about $5 if you dont have it already
