It all comes down to what your trying to do. When it comes to sockets, ratchets, and extensions, I own all Matco.. Sears does not make a quality swivel impack socket that i like.
Wrenches,, grear wrench hands down.

Pliers, and other gripping tools, Matco seems ot make a better tool.
You bigest investment will be the box you keep it all in.. You can give the snap-on man 20K for a nice size roll around, or pay the Matco man 10K for the samce size roll around, with a side box and hutch.
On a side note, Snap-on lost the patent on their sockets, now S&K owns it. for the price of one rail of Snap-0n sickts you can put a whole set of S&K in the box and have the same quality.
This is comming from some one who has more invested in tools then most do their house. The tool guys have built wings on their homes and named them after me.
