Well, the bizzare feeling while the procedure is going on is I swear it felt like he was tugging and pulling my lungs out through the hole he made. The smell of your flesh being cauterized and the tugging just made me feel sick. I was also one of the freaking 1 in 100 that came down with a localized infection at the incision point. A week later I couldn't fit my boys in my jeans......hahhaa. All in all though a piece of mind and not worried about the other half doing her part to prevent a surprise.

I had mine cut 14 years ago after being scared by a positive from a 22yo that turned out to be someone else's. I was 35 at the time and already have two sons with my ex. Minimal pain and discomfort, drove myself home in a 5-speed truck. The peace of mind is well worth the effort, probably increased my sex drive by 50%!

The funny part was when I was being prepped the nurse was preparing a tray while the Dr. prepped me. She suddenly asked "so we are just doing the left one today?" Laughing, the Dr. and I both looked over at her and he said "no, we are doing his left KNEE next week...". She stammered something about testicular cancer then promptly excused herself and didn't return. Poor nurse...was so embarrassed that she couldn't look me in the face when I left.

I had mine two years ago. I have one daughter, age 9, with my ex, and I decided my baby-raising days are behind me. It was fairly hassle-free, other than learning that I have a pretty high resistance to local anesthesia. I felt most everything for the first snip, but the doc was kind enough to double up the dosage for the other side. I didn't take them up on the sedative beforehand, but I wish I had.

The doc will probably talk to you about your level of certainty with having the procedure done, but at 41 I'd say you won't get too much grief from the doc about it. Good luck in whatever you do!

the risks are just too great to knock some chic up at this stage in my life. sorry if that sounds rude but I make fair amount of money and have no intention of giving $200 a week to some chic so she can go out clubing every week and buy new outfits every week.....:whistle: vs. spending it on the child.

at age 20 I could catch up after paying 18 years of child support.....:whistle: but im gonna retire in probably 5 or 6 years so I aint havn kids. no way no how.

I was wondering if the doctor would give me a hard time about it considering I have no kids. but the reversal rate is much higher today then it was years ago. I hear about 50% success rate up to 19 years AFTER.

I had mine done about 32 years ago. I would never do it again and I regret it. I have had to fight wieght gain all of my life. I wish I was shooting some swimmers but no such luck. I wish I had kept it loaded for duty. Plus all I want to do is bang every woman I see. Never again for me!

lol.... you say that as tho those are BAD things. well, ive battles being skinny my whole life so gaining a few extra pounds sounds great! and wanting to bank every woman I see doesnt seem so bad either.....:laugh: im all in now!:poke:
 
ok, so I made the appointment for next wednesday. gonna be under twilight anesthesia. the doctor says he removes a section, ties it and then cauterizes it. tripple protection.

says it will be 3-6 months b4 totally in the clear. he is a top ranked urologist from Yale Hospital so I feel comfortable goin with him. gave me all kinds of literature. says they send me out some test kit at 3 months to test semen to see if they are still active and then again at 6 months.

I asked if it was reversable and said sorta. says after 1 year 90%, 2 years 50%, 3 years 30%, 4 years 10%, 5 years 5%. he did say that I will still produce semen and I cud opt for invetro down the road if I REALLY wanted kids which I dont but its always an option. he says invetro is about $20k.
 
had it done gain some weight. the bad part is you'll have to give up biking for 4 to 6 weeks. they say how do you know you are strong(jogging home after it was done:laugh:)

Twilight???? Pansy, lol. J/K man. So you finely took the plunge. Just remember to get a good jock strap and wear it out of his office. Use it and ice for 3 day. Don't do anything but sit with ice and watch tv or the first 48 hours. Mine was done Feb 1st and I just had my first sample tested.. I'm all good.

I made the poor girl who called with the results all kinds of uncomfortable. She called and said she had results... Then she said "the doctor says its okay to have unprotected sex". I replied saying wow, I don't know a vasectomy protected me from STD's. she said wait, what. I only meant it didn't have anything in it. So I asked what she meant. I took her a few times but she finely said sperm. I started laughing and said I as only messing with her because she sounded nervous. She said it was her second day on the job and she was still getting used too all the penis talk.

Good luck bro, you'll feel so much better knowing you've had it done.

lol yea I was surprised he said twilight but insurance pays for everything so screw it. he did say it was not the most comfortable procedure to have so im perfectly fine with twilight. perfectly fine being a panzy:poke:.

but every single person I spoke with did it with just a local injection but im not gonna argue with some doctor sticking a needle in my ballz....:poke::laugh: he did say there are several ways to perform the procedure and not all of them are as successful as the one he performs so maybe thats why he recommends twilight cause its a little more invasive.

ok ill be sure to take it easy for a few dayz. the receptionist that works there is HOT so maybe she will call me with penis talk...:laugh: yea im really lookn forward to it. been contemplating it for like 10 years now and finally got the ballz to do it.....:poke:
