The seemingly surreal fact that I am in Manila, Phillippines and I think I am somewhere in Mexico is what plays like a newsreel in my mind. If it weren't for all the "Jeepmees" driving around, I would be convinced that I am in a seedy area of Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta or Cancun, Mexico. Hot, Humid and tropical with lots of Catholic imagery everywhere you go.. Life's a trip!

Don't worry everybody, I will drink plenty of San Miguel on your behalf! :beerchug:

A couple of observations of Manila:

San Miguel Beer will have you stumbling much faster than domestic fare. If you want to pace yourself like American beer stick to San Mig light...

Big guys, don't expect to find any shirts in sizes larger than XL. People here are generally (very) small and thin. Anyone needing even an XL t-shirt is extraordinarily large for the populace.

Learn to be content with people approaching you to sell any number of things. My suggestion to repel them is to say "thanks but I don't need any "knock-off" watches/cialis/viagra. ???

After last night, I once again know that I do not need cialis or viagra since variety is an excellent substitute.

Having a young guy that is about 5'2" tall and about 100lbs approach you and say he will be your body guard when you are 6'4" 267lbs is a great way to have a laugh and will stop traffic to get you across the street.

Roxas boulevard (pronounced Rosas not rocksas) along the bay is a great place to get very sweaty and smell very foul (like the sewer) seawater while watching locals bathe near floating trash and debris of every type imaginable.

Ah-lets NOT have pics of the locals takin a dip in the poo-poo water:poke:

Sounds like an interesting area-Im sure there has to be some good local cultural attractions in your area that're pic-worthy:thumbsup:
dont stumble over any Cobras:whistle: down there

Huh, I would say enjoy yourself, but looks like you don't need any advice in that department. So I will say, becareful. And some pics of the culture would be nice (family friendly/educational of course).

Just make sure what you pick up in the islands....well, you know the rest! Buddy of mine did 'buy' his wife from the Phillippines. Has to pay an annual fee to her family as a part of their agreement.??? Nice gal, very dedicated to him and there growing family. Kind of hard to find that any more...:beerchug:
