Peter Lynch story..

He was merely serving his patriotic duty to correct an error in Flag Protocol. Why charge him? It is a petty political move on the part of the local government.

Folks... Let's try to keep the hate out of this thread. Anybody that starts talking about how they will have to learn spanish because of this or wisecracks about other religious affiliations is just plain foolishness.
Projekt, I meant no hate by my comment. I just want to be a good citizen of this country that I served. And be able to communicate and get along with my neighbors. Thats all. I travel to Mexico on a regular basis for work. I spent months at a time there. I try to speak there language when I am there. I do not expect them to change to satisfy me. I abide by there laws and customs.
I just would like the same respect here. I am not racist. Every one deserves a chance at a good life.

There was a time that it was a good thing to stand up for what you believe..
There was also a time being an American meant something..

We have always been tolerant but also at the same time knew exactly where our loyalties lay..

Today, you get arrested for removing a foreign governments flag from a publicly owned educational facility.

You have a specific party trying to cap "talk radio" because their "Air America" could not float on their morals.

Worst of all you have a lot of people that have become apathetic about all if it because trying to do anything about it brings you nothing but grief (read: politics burns the best people for the jobs)

I suppose it is going to take a grass roots movement by someone with a lot of "moxy" to even attack some of these issues that are surely bringing our country to its knees...

Yea I am tolerant of your "heritage" but you are now in my country of origin.. America, either embrace it for your home land or get the hell out....

Or I suppose you could silence the free thinkers and talkers and finally take away freedom... (probably easier huh?)

Exactly. Thank you for clearing that up post haste.

I do not post these topics to start a "race bashing" thread but to inform people of events happening in this Country.

I felt that this event is very sad. Last I heard the Governor was going to pardon the sentence handed down to him.

Makes little sense to me on a lot of this:

You miss so much the country you left and want to emulate it so bad?
Everyone wants to escape and become an illegal migrant farm worker in USA.. (boy I aspire to that one)
average yearly income is <$12000 for family of 6
More dirt roads and streets than paved
Corrupt police/govt (well more than here)
Super highway? yea right
mostly impovrished citizens by govt
lucky if you have glass windows
you are lucky if you have a car

Why would you want to bring it with you after you escaped it? I dont get it...

It's all good. I just think that your cynicism is a little misled.

These threads tend to quickly deteriorate into discussions that the "KKK" would enjoy reading.

No doubt that the University staff blew it when they overlooked the serious breach in protocol by allowing a foreign flag to fly alone on US soil. The asswhipping needs to go to the school staff rather than the patriot who performed a public service by taking it down.

To issue a warrant for vandalism is absurd due to the circumstances and a simple overreaction.

Jesus... Get a freaking Hobby, go for a ride or something man.... All this political crap will make you crazy...

It'll eat you up if forget that both sides, Conservative and Liberal are completely retarded at their extremes.

What if he tore down a pornographic photo that was on display? Both are being displayed illegally and both are considered inappropriate.

It is a very clear case IMO. There are no victims when you look at the motives. He even offered to replace the flag.

This is just more Far Left Loons and the BS they spew.

Us Far Left Loons are right here and we can hear you

I believe the issue was (and I use the past tense because it appears charges will be dropped, rightly so IMHO) that rather than ask the people in charge to remove the flag or put the American flag above it, he took it on himself to remove the flag, but then to rip the flag, and there you have the offense. Carefully removing the flag and taking it to whoever he deemed responsible for putting it up would have been advisable. This of course is a Far Left Loon opinion and should be scoffed at accordingly....

He had to buy a new Mexican flag.

Also got 6 months community service and 18 months probation.

I agree with you on the KKK statement. That was not my intention. I also did not mean cynisism either. I would just like the same respect that I give out. I am on both sides of the fence. I am a localwhen I am here and I am a vistor when I go there. I do not go around hoisting American flags in Mexico. I also do not expect them to speak English when talking to me. I respect you and your ancestry, now please respect me and mine. I even went so far as to follow the MExican Presidential elections. I was there when the riots in Mexico City happened. Not fun. You understand what it is like to be in a foriegn land with fighting and waring going on.

Tuesdays are always fun around here

And yes, all this "political crap" will eat you up... point being is that too many ignore it and so do nothing at all (it will fix itself)

I may not agree with Red05 but you know what? he stands his ground... Hats off bro! I would bet you vote too...

It is easy for many to side left/right but how many actually go out and do the most simple of things (voting again)

Red05, you can take this election off... I am going to offset your vote I am sure (we can agree to both stay home right?)

Sort of makes you appreciate those hours of riding on that common thread we all have... Busanites unite!

...and I must add that we agree on a point that (I think) you made, 'Ole Bogus One...the important thing is that we care. I remember not so long ago apathy seemed to be our country's biggest enemy.
