I just just cruising around the BMW site--(love the bikes, but can't justify the $$$)--and saw they're introducing the new K 1300 S. Putting out 175 HP and 103 ft-lb @ 8250 RPM. Wonder which bike they're try to take on?:beerchug:

BMW's have been taken a beating lately in the press as significant evidence of rear ends dieing prematurely have been noted. I hope this new model is a chain drive.

I just cannot see myself on that. It looks like it has a tankbag on it even tho it doesn't. It doesn't seem to fit together too well to me, at least not in pictures. It looks like it was designed in a hurry and doesn't flow very well, aesthetically speaking.

nah, I'll keep my Gen1 Busa. It's still prettier.

Very similiar to the K1200S. Here's some pics I took from a road test I did. 1200 miles in 3 days on this bike. Not anywhere near the horsepower of the Busa. But the handling was remarkably different than the busa due to the fork and the engine which rotated forward to get it closer to the ground and lower center of gravity

Bike you are looking at here was $16K.

Like I always say...

More money for less performance....???

:poke:

Not for me, I regard the word VALUE to much,
probably why I'll never own a harley.

"Not anywhere near the horsepower of the Busa."

Seems I've heard that somewhere before

Great pics BTW

bla bla bla..... :poke: Its a Busa forum for christ sake what do you expect to hear..

OH...so I guess Pashnit doesn't know what he's talking about either

I expect truth regardless of what board I'm on.
Here's a guy with more seat time than 10 of us combined and
he echos EXACTLY what I've been saying.

I call it like I see it, you want truth...
The ZX-14 is a better all around bike than the Gen 1 Busa
I just don't happen to like the styling as much.
Shame on Suzuki for not doing even a minor brake upgrade
in over a decade of putting the busa revenues in their pocket
or using it to fund the litter/600 wars, which recieved upgrades
every 2 years. Think about it, they upgraded and/or completely redesigned
the 1000/600s (5) times EACH and didn't even give the busa a decent
upgraded brake system. Now after a decade, they make the stroke longer
add 20 horsed, use the same chaisis and all the hommies go "ooohhh....ahhh"
(not to mention uglified the tail beyond belief)

All they did with the Gen 2 was bring the bus up to the level of the 14.
They need to hire the star engineers, the ones in charge of the VMax project
THAT'S AN UPDATE. Yeah I know, it's an $18,000 bike but Zuk coulda done
more after a decade of making money off us than take the cheap way out.

My point is...don't care about what board I'm on, I call it like I see it and
other's do as well. Just because they don't share your point of view, don't
mean they are lying to give other board members that warm fuzzy feeling.

The beemers are premium money with 2nd teir performance, and that's
thru-out their lineup. :banghead:

From Superbike Magazine June 2008, road test compairison between the
Zx-14, 2008 Busa, K1200S..

"it (the 1200s) lacks the sheer driving force of the Kawasaki, and especially
the Suzuki, and needs a gear change down to back on terms. On this test
it usually meant if the bloke at the back was on the 1200, over a set of
miles he got left behind."

It goes on but you get the idea...Maybe they're members of the board to :poke:

Seriously man...maybe somethings out of sync on your Busa
I'm running HMF with power commander

I guess you're saying the beemer is 3rd rate and the busa is 2nd rate, and the 14 is the best because the engine is so damn smooth...OOOPPS there I go again thinking like a mechanic again..must be from all those years wrenching and loving a silky smooth engine at all and any rpm.
