cam timing after .080 cpacer...

just got through installing a .080 cpacer plate...i am using two ape adj. sprockets...i reinstalled the cams as the service manual state. after checking timing i am at 93 on the intake. i loosen up`the adjust sprocket and adj. but still in the range i am looing at.... highest reading i got was 100
 
degreeing cams can be tricky and easily messed up. sounds like you're fairly new to this? Discribe how you're running the dial indicator and how you're working the math. Lets make sure you're doing it right.

My first several attempts at degreeing cams failed badly. I wasn't doing it right. Thankfully, I didn't bend anything.
 
yes i'm new! i made a base plate drill four holes in it and mount it to the cam shaft holder... i'm taking my readings at the # 1 lobes both intake and exhaust it's the easiest.. and it allows the dial indicator to be mounted directely above the tappet... i am taking my reading at .040 ...i do have a good TDC. reading is equal on both side of zero....
