08 tail section removal

I'm removing my tail on the '08, what do i do with the wires going to the tag light? that's all the tail section is holding on by? Help....

Sorry man I dont own an 08

But it looks like you just unplug it.

In the harness on the left side is a small two wire plug thats goes just to the tag light.

matt6007 are you talking about a harness underneath the rear seat or what. Just wanted to know because I want to remove the plastic bumper and tag light as well.

I just bought that same tail light from ebay from motorcycleparts2u. he kinda had bad feedback, any one know if the parts he sells are OEM?

What i did was take out the four pop pins at front of tail section, remove the pop pins on underside of tail and bolts under seat. I then slid the tail back and exposed the harness wiring under the tail. The two plugs are under the tail (left side rear, one goes to the tail light and the other goes to the tag light.
