Thanks for the inspirational words, much appreciated as it's been the toughest 3yrs of my life and I've been through A LOT of BS in my life and made a comeback every single time but not so sure this time around. Might be at that point where I hang up the gloves so to speak. Also wanna add that I would have not made it without my wife glued to my side the entire time, she'd administer the IV's,change the dressings etc..Love that woman more than life itself
Having a someone in your corner is a very important thing that's a fact......and you definitely lucked out......

Just don't get hung up on that BMI, body mass index crap...what a load of garbage that is, as everyone is different.
That did it for me, final proof that sticking everyone in the same BMI box was as I had always belived...nonsense.
The old now retired country Dr that I went to when I was younger also confirmed that, as in my early 20's, 5'10" , in the 180's...I was overweight...with visible abs.
He laughed too.
Missed this somehow when I posted Sunday. Anyways, when we moved South I needed to find a new primary care physician which proved difficult. 1st one I saw weighed me(201lbs),measured my height(5'7") and said I needed to lose weight as my BMI was 31.5% and deemed me as Obese,Class 1. Then I started receiving letters from our health insurance company with all kinds of BS saying Im in a high risk category and guidelines for losing weight, etc. I called the Doctors office and complained and they said there's nothing they could do as that's the National Guideline Standard for BMI or some crap. DIdn't matter she examined me with my shirt off. Meanwhile the Dr was like 5'4" and at least 200lbs lol. I remember taking a pic that evening at the gym and sent it to my buddies saying I was obese lol. Heres the pic lol

Feburary update.

Im down to a 34 pant from a 42. My wife just bought me a couple shirts as I am still loosing and didnt want to spend a lot only to have to buy more. Ive been is a XL shirt for years, now in a medium. Weight is hovering at 182. I would still like to shred off another 20 lbs of jiggly as I still have a belley but its slowly going down. I slacked off on the gym this past month with nothing but useless excuses, headed back today. Just shy of a year.

Well done Jerry!
Looking good my friend, must feel a lot more energetic too… when I went from 105kg to 85kg in 3 months it was life changing. My energy levels increased dramatically.
That was 7 years ago and I’m still 85kg so I’m very happy.

I’m 68 soon, I’m my 50’s I was 230lbs and drinking heavily, then diabetes saved my life, seriously, it was the wale up call I needed to set me straight and get back to basics… no more beer, no more fast food etc etc.
But the meds are controlling the type 2 diabetes and I’m pretty happy and energetic these days.
Thank God I listened to that doctor 7 years ago about my possible health outcomes if I carried on abusing alcohol and every other thing I was doing.
Now I’m retired, riding my bike everyday I can, and enjoying life, living everyday FOR the day!

He looks about 35 from the neck down. It’s nice to know there’s other gym rats here.
I've just come from the basement where I lifted a few weights for an hour or so....

I'm nowhere close to what I once was but I can still put in a hard day of physical labor and not suffer so I'm happy about that....

In my previous career, I needed to be able to conduct long distance weight bearing marches, long distance runs and sprints along with having muscular endurance and good cardio....it was hard to keep that up......pretty much impossible when I retired.

Well done sir. My boss had a health scare a few years ago. Dropped a bunch of weight. But it didn't take. He's back to the old ways now.

Being a desk jockey, I do the best I can with the gym / treadmill. But it was very humbling to see a man such as yourself that actually works for a living. We were moving pallets of heavy blocks and he ran me into the ground.

I knew a guy who was absolutely ripped and never set foot in a gym......

He came in one day and didn't know how to use the equipment, everyone thought he was putting on an act....but he wasn't.....

We'd sometimes get "muscle heads" trying out for selection into our unit and they struggled with the endurance and cardio.....most of them washed out even though they looked like "Greek Gods."

Pretty wild. I just want to "age gracefully" at this point. If I can moto into my 70's I think that would be a win.

I seem to remember you are also a cyclist? Keep spinning, that will have you moto into your 80’s.

Holy moly!!

As a kid in the '80's BMX was big. Then I moved to Arizona and fell in love with mountain biking. Now I have a single-speed I ride around on flat routes. I also have an old bike on a stationary trainer in the garage for the winter season.
