What causes a brand new battery to go dead in less than 12 hours?

I have no idea besides the obvious, sure was it charged? And leave a power drain (ignition in the on position) ? But I know you are not dumb so I will skip those. The only logical thing left is Aliens.

00Ps...about 7 interior lights,5 controlled be the ignition ....then there's one that can be turned on,perhaps to look at something in the glove box....
Car=1 Rubb=0
It was a problem with a HID.

Easiest way to test is use your test light and pull the positive cable off and put the test light between the cable and battery (of course after u charge it) and if any draw which there obviously is it'll light up. Go to the fuse panel and start pulling fuses 1 by 1 and when the light goes out you'll have an idea where to look. Make sure u push in the button that turns the interior lights on somehow since you'll most likely have the door open or you'll end up with an extra draw on it. And don't ask how I know that.

I do know I've had a few hatchback Hondas mostly the older ones that had an issue with the switch for the lights at the hatch. Also if you haven't already make sure u test the charging system, I've had alternators go bad and suck the battery down too.
