Looks like he just gave up and stopped. Probably the smartest thing to do at that point. Listen to the reporter "really ritous take down". What a joke, the guy stopped and the officer pulled him over on the bike.

Yeah, whoop-de-frickin-do. Like it's even remotely difficult to pull a guy off a bike and like the officer would have done any differently.

I think the guy was surprised to see the cop car there but he obviously wasn't giving up... maybe he just wanted time to shift into neutral, lol.

wouldn't work saw still shot of end. Don't chase bikes or kids as a personal rule. Current department has no chase policy period.

what a puss-he had plenty of room to run around that cop-his first mistake was slowing down so much when he went between two cars in front of the cop...then he obviously just gave up-I couldn't tell if the officer had his weapon drawn; anyone with better eyesight?

IMHO-dude deserves a lil thumpity-thump just for not knowing how to evade better....and riding such a fugly bike

Nice vid. The biker got off lucky. He won't be riding for a while, and he can think about what he did wrong. Small price to pay given all the other terrible things that could have happenned.

Man I got a court date pending because of some cats running from the popo.

It was me and 4 of my boys on the hwy when maybe 6 other cats came by gettin it.  As men we did what we were suppose to do...go after them. Me on the bus, (1) 1000RR, (1) K6, and (2) 05 R1s.  Don't know what the other guys were riding but we walked them down in a heartbeat (minus the CBR).  Once we caught up we just tagged along at a very very nice "spirted speed" for about 10-15mi (5 minutes or so).  I noticed the CBR had lagged behind somewhere.  I slowed down to wait, he never came up.  I took an exit, went to a gas station and started making phone calls to find everyone.  About 10-15 minutes later 2 state troopers pull up in the gas station and right up on me, Im like "WTF".  But, what I really said is "Is there a problem Officers
smile.gif
".  They said that I was seen taking an exit at an high rate of speed (which was true when I decided to exit).  Also, there had been a police chasing about "10-20" bikes.  I told him I didn't know what he was talking about.

To make a long story short they got the CBR on the Hwy.  The officer that started the chase, stopped the CBR gave him the business and locked him up.  He saw my name on the CBRs cell caller ID and decided to call me.  He told me that I must have been with him and to come and pick him up from jail.  All the while Im standing there waiting to be identified by the police that was calling (who was on his way to me with the CBR in the car).

Gotta go will finish when I return....

So...

Of course when the 3rd S.T. got there he says YEAH THAT's ONE OF THEM".  Mind you I never saw or heard a LEO.  They take me in...on our way to the "PIN" I hear over the radio that they have another one of the motorcycles.  One of the K6's had stopped and done the samething I was doing (calling around).  They got him as he was getting back on the hwy to keep going.

They locked all 3 of us up with $1,000 bond.  Charged us with:

Fleeing and Aludeing (Felony)
Reckless Driving
130+ in a 65 (Cop said he was at 130 and we were walking away from him)
Failure to stop for lights and siren

Oh...and we were 4hrs from home.  (In N.C., home D.C.)

We went to court in Nov, the Judge was not having it.  The DA dropped the Reckless and Failure to stop and reduced the F&A to a misdemeanor.
The Judge wanted to hand it to us for the 130+ he wasn't sweating the F&A (although he wasn't trying to drop it. He said although no one got hurt or there were no accidents involved, the 130+ on a public hwy was equivilent to us setting a bomb and no one was around when it went off
pissed.gif
.  Our lawyer asked for a continuation to try and get another Judge.  We have to go back later this month.  My 2 boys have their own businesses and do alot of contract work for the local governments and I work for DoD and have a clearance.  None of us can afford a misdemeanor on our records.

And to top things off the officer says to us "I ride, I got a 97 RR. I was just gonna tell you guys to slow it down"
rock.gif
I told him thats why he charged us the way he did he knew that his bike would not have kpt up with the guys that were running. I gave him hell for still having a 97' RR. What more could he have done we were already sitting in the jail cell.
