washington dc bike show

i went to the bike show today in DC , wasn`t as good as i thought it would be.

yea there was some really cool custom busa`s and some hotties but mostly just factory bikes...which is cool because i know thats what it`s mostly about i just thought i would see alot more customs. my friend wanted a smoked lense for his HJC and couldn`t even find that..don`t even try to eat there!!!
 
I went today and the wife forgot the camera at home. I enjoyed the new HD Rocker and the 08'Busa. I also was checking out a blue/white Aprillia Tuono and the new BMW HP2. Them are some nice machines...

I was also laughing at the "Deal's" some vendors were offering. I sell half the stuff i saw and i know what they get it for.


I had some custom earplugs made for me and Grandpa Busa stopped by to do the same. All in all i had a great time like every year. Why people find the show lacking is beyond me. It is what it is.
 
Well hey, We were there too..........Met up w/LCB and Loomis, and MidlifeIII for a bit, would have been nice to see you guys(in person)
We were the first people in the door, and it was great untill about 11:30 and then it seemed a little crowded.....we were spoiled I guess from earlier. This was my first show (always seems I have my kids)when shows come around.....It was ok, saw some things we were looking at getting..
I'd give it a 3 out of 5 for my expectations of what a bike show was in my mind.......
 
Is it me or was BMW MIA?... It's cool to see all the new stuff in one place and be able sit sit on the bikes you're interested in. It seemed there weren't as many vendors as in previous years... but that just means I would have spent more money.
 
Nope, BMW was there. I went to the NYC and DC shows, and since I've been going for the NYC show for a few years, what was missing this year is the custom choppers and some name vendors. Oh, yeah, and again, no Triumph. (KTM made it.)

IMO, the NYC show is more exciting--probably because of the larger crowds. And how does DC build a convention center without any parking?
 
OK thoughts of the bike show from here (Mrs) having been to them before I was somewhat disappointed with the lack of "deal" Maybe it's been awhile and prices have sky rocketed. WoW! Really enjoyed seeing the custom Busas.
We wound up hanging around the Basa area at different times through out our day....interesting to watch those that arn't Busa owners...once seated on one they all became "Wanna-Bs." This also gave us the chance to meet and talk with a few couples with a common interest, not all Busa owners but 2 wheels are 2 wheels.

All in all it was a good day.....Problem was I wanted to go home and ride.....With hand surgery just this past Monday I could only want.

thinkinabout goin today went in last night about 15 minutes before they closed to go hollar at the adrenaline crew boys, but it did seem to be a little lackluster from years past but i was thinking it was cuz every one was shutting down. I asked about some prices on a couple things and didnt seem like any good deals were out there...lol josh gave me better prices

highlight tho...it was the first time Id seen the the back of a zx-14

having been a few times in the past i guess i was just expecting more like some of the other people that posted that went ?? at least maybe a few deals on stuff instead of overpriced vendors.

I was hanging around the 08'Busa and found myself answering questions about the bike. I had on a H.org shirt and people felt i was the one to talk to get answers from. Susan, my wife also answered questions.  So i gave some real world info about the Gen1 bike from an owners perspective that no dealer or Suzuki pamphlet could offer. I felt i corrected alot of hearsay the general public has heard. I actually think i convinced 2 older guys to testride a new Busa. They told me the same old garbage of how they could never ride it. I enlightened them on the mods you can do to make it much more comfortable and that these bikes are used in everything from dragracing to cross country touring. I saw them gazing at the bike like 2 little boys in awe and told them this isn't just a young mans bike, that all age riders use them and it's a family atmosphere on this site.

thats cool, i probably saw you since i was over there myself quite a few times sitting on the 08`s .. to bad they had the blue one up on the stand because thats the one i like. i`m still not crazy about the tail section or the huge mufflers but maybe they will grow on me??? hopefully you talked a couple of guys into getting a busa, the more the merrier.
