25,000 on guard to protect him.
They must think something might go wrong too.

We've had eight years of Bush throwing nearly a trillion dollars at the effort to ensure we're safe.

At some point we're going to have to test whether it's worked or not.

You guys are to funny. Just think; you could say you were present when the first African-American president was sworn in. Barrack Obama is our prsident elect. I'm willing to give him four years as president before passing judgement. I voted for McCain in case anyone is curious. America needs to move forward. Hopefully we'll move forward in a positive direction and not to a welfare state. Can anyone say National Daycare, Healthcare, etc.

Look at his ultra-liberal voting record in the senate. He won't change. The liberal party line should be "Nobody gets two pair of shoes until everyone has one". How long before car and bike 60 mph governors are required--with a $5,000 fine and immediate confiscation/destruction if it's not working?

It's all over, folks. Wait and see.:moon:

here is a little blurb from Wikipedia about his screwed up parents. Hard to believe he could make it to the highest office in the land after having parents like this. No wonder he does not mention them.

In 1960, after she (his mother) graduated from high school, the Dunham family moved to Hawaiʻi to pursue further business opportunities in the new state, and she enrolled at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She met Barack Obama, Sr., a student from Nyang’oma Kogelo in Kenya and the school's first African student, in a Russian language class.[12] She married him on February 2, 1961 in Maui, Hawaiʻi despite some parental opposition to the marriage from both sides.[13][5] Obama Sr.'s other wife, Kezia, granted her consent for him to marry a second wife, in keeping with tribal custom,[14] though Ann Dunham would not find out that her new husband was already married until later.[15] Dunham was three months pregnant at the time of her marriage.[5][16]

On August 4, 1961, at age 18, she gave birth to her first child, Barack Obama II.[17] Later that month, she visited old friends in Washington state with her new baby.[18][19][20][21]

Ann left school to care for the baby, while Obama Sr. completed his degree. He graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi in June 1962 and was offered a scholarship to study in New York City[22] with which he could have supported his family, but he declined it preferring to attend the more prestigious Harvard University.[13] He left for Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he would begin graduate study at Harvard in the fall.[15]

Mother and son returned to Seattle, where she enrolled in the University of Washington either before[15] or after[20] her husband left Hawaiʻi. Subsequently, Dunham moved back to Hawaiʻi[20] and filed for divorce in Honolulu in January 1964. Obama Sr. did not contest, and the divorce was granted.[16] Obama Sr. received a Masters degree (MA) in economics from Harvard in 1965[23] and only saw his son again once, in 1971, when Barack was ten years old. After Obama Sr. died in 1982, Ann Dunham visited Kenya.[24]

Amazing that he chooses to identify with his Father's race, seems Mom did most of the "parenting".

Curious days these are......we shall see if he walks the walk, or just talks the talk.

At this point, I kinda feel that things can only get better...this country is in the toilet. And don't get me started on my lovely state of California.....

I think if you will look around you will see things are not as bad as the media wants you to think.
Still the greatest country in the world.
How many people do you see leaving the country and how many do you see trying to move here?

Look for the bad, you will find it.
Look for the good, you will find it.
Good news is not news........

Will there be any trouble? Do you expect 10,000 conservatives to make total fools of themselves trying to protest the inauguration? Of course not - too much class. But, let's ask ourselves if it had gone the other way...would the Code Pink fools stage a sit-in? Would the liberal protesters assault the attendees, like they did at the RNC Convention? You BET. What's the difference? CLASS. Democrats need to gain some CLASS to get some respect.

I sure as hell didn't vote for Obama or the liberal agenda, BUT - he won the election. He deserves the respect of the office and we all REALLY NEED for him to be successful for us ALL (just as we ALL would if McCain had won). It's not polite to speak of our President in degrading language, and for those of you who can't seem to remember this - it' PRESIDENT BUSH, just like, tomorrow, it will be PRESIDENT OBAMA. SHOW SOME RESPECT this country would be alot better off if we could all remember that.
