I used to basically live on a Gixxer when I was racing one in superbike class.....seems I've always had one until the last few years.....

We have a member here @Ac41 who rides his Gen 2 at the track and has it set up pretty good and seems to be able to hold his own.

There are definite advantages for the current liter bikes on a track, their power delivery and weight make them pretty hard to beat if they are set up as well.
A Hayabusa would have to have a lot of time and money spent on it to be close to competitive.......and all that time and money can also be spent on a liter bike which already has a huge weight advantage......in a long race, that weight advantage goes a long way to fight off fatigue.

.....and a lot of it depends on the rider as well......I went to a Suzuki manufacturer track day a few years back and the reigning Suzuki superbike champion was there running "rabbit" on a GSXR 600 and nobody could keep up with him even the people on liter bikes....
