ARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Im selling this fukin bike and buying a sewing machine....I mean a real sewing machine!

I cant get a fukin break.
Those who read my last post know that my motor grenaded on me this sunday from a chain tensioner failure. Well this morning, the guys from the local dealer show up with their pick-up to get my bike.
I wheel it around front and I look at their ramp. The bikes lowered so it seems kinda steep to me and I tell him so. He asures me that hes put many a lowered bike up the ramp and has never bottomed one out..........not till mine at least.
Up the ramp it goes...BANG....nice big dent in my number three exhaust tube on my brand fukin new Akropovic exhaust! JEEEZZZ I scream, thats my $1100.00 pipe you just bent..."oh, it's not too bad he replies."
When we get to the dealership I tell him I want the header removed so that I can take it to Blais cycle and see what they can do with it. I return an hour later and the shmucks didn't take the radiator out when removing the pipes. Now my radiator has dings all in the aluminum fins!

BRAIN DEAD MORONS!!

To make a worse matter worse, Lockhart Phillips tells me that they cant replace a single tube, has to be the whole system because theyre made one at a time and they dont have spare number three tubes layin around.
Now not only am I waiting to see what the hell is wrong with my engine, Im gonna be locked in a battle to get the dealership to buy me a new pipe and radiator. Some might say that stuff is kinda petty but you have to understand, my bike stays in my living room, in the air conditioning. I didnt buy the bike like that, I didnt give them the bike like that, I'm not gonna except the bike like that.

Damn, shoulda bought a 12R.
 
Calm down,it seems like you have a valid reason to have them buy you a new Akrapovic and a new radiator.I highly suggest that you go and take pics of the damage.Tell the owner of the shop that you want all the damaged parts replaced with new ones.If he refuses call American Suzuki and your Lawyer.

I'd be careful with what I was bitching about from that dealer. Too much BS and they might start down a look at all these modifications...void the warranty path.

Suck it up. Note the problems and work them from a perspective of kindness. Fight the dealer after the warranty work is complete. GOOD LUCK!
 
Glad I live near motorhead. Seems once a dealership sells the bike they could care less unless its out of warranty .

Lofty, you need to calm down and stop blaming the bike! It sounds to me like your main beef is with the dealership. Why do you keep f u c k i n around with those d i c k heads? Why not go to a dealer that you know does good work and who has a manager/owner that understands your problems and is willing to work with you to fix it? Also, you should not have had the dealer pick up your bike. You really should've done that yourself knowing it's lowered with lots of expensive bits. Eat the cost of renting a van or trailer for the sake of getting your bike safely to the dealership.

I understand your frustration but it's not all the bike's fault. How do you know that the ZX12R, modified & ridden the same way as your Busa won't give you the same heartaches? If you let your emotions dictate your actions, you'll just make things worse for you. Try to put your emotions aside and think logically on how best to deal with and fix your bike's problems. I know it's tough when your baby is broken but what else can you do?

I agree with you whole-hearted..... But I look at it this way, I bought the same bike and to me it is just that "a bike", can be replaced with money. I try not to attached to purchases as they seem to turn to s.h.i.t. over time anyways....

Sorry to hear about your damage Lofty, it makes it worse when you do not do the damage yourself..... The dealer should be held responsible for the damage, listen to Rogue on this one... Worse comes to worse... Lawyers, Suzuki and court....
 
My prob is i cant seem to find a dealership that does good quality work. The Powersports I brought it from overfilled the oil by a quart and a half at the 600 mile service. I used a different dealership this time hoping to get better treatment.
As far as excepting the dents and dings...i just can't. Its shoody workmanship pure and simple, carelessness.
I would never treat someone elses bike like that.

I was just jokin bout getting a 12.

I got a serious love affair goin on with my Busa, I couldn't cheat on her. Thats why it breaks my heart to see this stuff happening to her.

When I took my bike in for the 600 miles service the Dealer scratched my tank.It was a small scratch,about an 1/8th of an inch.They offered to replace the tank.I told them that wasnt necessary bit I was impressed that they offered.I buffed out the scratch when I got home.Before I released my bike to them I had the head mechanic to look over the bike and point out any flaws so he knew that they scratched it.There are some dealers out there that are decent.You paid too many big $$$ for your bike and exhaust system to let someone screw it up and not be responsible.If it was a Harley I'm sure the dealer would replace the parts with no problems.Sportbike riders get no respect because we settle for less.IT'S YOUR BIKE,THEY SCREWED IT UP,MAKE'EM FIX IT OR SEE'EM IN COURT,PERIOD!!!!!
 
lofty seems like that black is over you take itfrom me i 've gotten plenty mad over things in the past so i decided i would do as much as possible first look at trailers i have a enclosed 14 footer that way there is never a doubt about trailering anywhere it will come in handy for other projects as well next search for a "REAL" mechanic i keep trying to tell people if your going to have a high performance vehicle like this you need quality help. i cant remember where you live but even if you have to travel a little ways its worth it and you can trailer your bike in your trailer. you have to eliminate these minimum hour wage people touching your bike. if you dont know of a quality mechanic post it i'm sure you will find one. i'm traveling 7 hours one way to take my gsxr 750 to bob carpenter it will be worth it. i spoke to him last week and he is very thorough. and his prices are in line with dealer ships for his assembly. your getting 25 years of experiance with his company. hope everything works out for you
 
i do not believe in dealerships anymore. BRIGHT KAWASAKI in MI is the biggest crock of sht ive ever seen.im not going to go into detail but long story short.i bought my bike from them and after some warranty descrepencies i will never set foot in that place again.First off i dont believe in mechanics period. i was lucky enough to have been raised by a DAD that taught me how to wrench on bikes,cars whatever. Not to brag but most of the bike mechanics i know dont know thier *** from the dik thats fukkin it!!No im not ragging on "specialists like motorhead ect." just the dealership beatoffs. I know ive offended someone by now, but "most" case scenerios its true.
 
To C-Rod: I am one of those wretched wrenchers you speak of but I am not offended. I worked 3 of my near 25 years of commercial bike teching for a local dealership and basicall saw the same thing happen there over and over again. Those 6 dollar an hour flunkies are the problem. They don't give a darn for the most part. I once recommend that my shop foreman give the shop flunkies $2000.00 a week and subtract the amount they tore up and the shop would come out better financially. Nothing worse than a wrench like myself taking the painstaking time and trouble to figure this crap out and do it right just to have a flunkie salary guy drop or scratch the job you finished the day before. Makes us all look bad.
I hate it for your Lofty but next time I recommend you take off all of your plastic and exhoust before you allow the dealer to ever look at your bike. Most dealers will be glad to take a semi stripped bike. Less trouble for them. It would be for me.

The bike isn't your prob. its the dealer. I have to agree with other post on this one. Get the warranty work done then have the dealer buy ou new pipes and radiator. After all they know what they did. So it will be easier to get them to replace it.
 
Lofty: Do not let them get away with this. You warned them before loading the bike, and you warned them about the radiator. Those idiots are incapable of repairing that motor. Make them replace your pipe and radiator. Have them give you your motor back with the warrantied parts and take it to an engine builder. The guys at this dealership should have their a** kicked.
 
The dealership is going to try and determine the extent of the damage, by way of an exploritory tear down, sometime Friday. If the damage is extensive, I will demand a new motor be put in the bike. I will except nothing else. Ive heard that they will not replace it but Im prepared to fight a long legal battle if I must. I brought a brand new motorcycle. With 2900 miles on it, I will not except a re-built motor.
If the damage is not extensive, I will pick up the motorcycle the day they call me, have them order the parts and I will have an experienced engine builder re-assemble it.

As far as the pipe, it was a quarter sized ding about an eighth of an inch deep in the bend of the number three header tube.
The chief mech says he can have a friend of his at a local machine shop fix it. I'm willing to try and work with them on this, if its less than perfect, I will not except it.

The radiator they are goin to have to replace.
Im calling Suzuki America today and speaking to a local rep. Im sick to my stomach over this crap. I have decided that nothing less than 100% satisfaction is enough.
 
Like I always said Learn to do the job yourself. Buy the right tools,jacks and manuel. Copy information on How to Do from this site, Do not drink Beer/hard boz when working on your bike, keep calm when working on the bike and mark electrical cables,hose lines so that you know where the items go when putting your bike back together. Another good idea is to make a diagram of what you are removing,that way it will help you remember where the parts go. Last items keep a clean and safe work area and always have a phone near by for help. Good Luck
 
I'm along the same line as busaboy, but I recommend a Ruger P91 .40 cal pressed to the temple of the dealership manager. I bet he'll replace your pipe. Was there 2 idiots trying to get it on the trailer or 1? If 2 you have a witness.
Guns aside, I think you have a small claims court won hands down. God I hate hearing this **** !!!
 
thankyou JRbusa, he is a mechanic and has seen this problem firsthand.It all comes down to this. just like most anything else in life. it isnt theirs so they dont give a rats azz.Like i said "specialists" are a dfferant story. but i have had problems before with getting an engine rebuilt for a car. It all depends on who you know.
