Does anone else find it quite a hassle to when changing to and from the solo seat?

I am thinking on cutting the back mount so that I can have in on with the grip bars?

Anyone done this?

Please show me some pics if you can and any other tips.

Thanks

I've been thinking about that myself. To just wear off the natural curve taken by the bar in order to swith back and forth between the hump and rider seat.

I found a picture of a Busa that had it done but so much had been done to it that it's not a good illustration of the final result.

I saw one too but even the bar had been drilled with holes so its not very realistic for me. The bike I saw had been heavily modified too.

Was it the one at mototeck?

It was Eric's bike from Mototec. Going by Campbellville on Sun AM maybe see you there. Mike

I personally think that you lose the "smooth" look that putting on the rear cowl is supposed to give, when you leave the grab rail on with the cowl.
It looks silly.
Who uses the grab rail anyway? I insist that my passengers hang on to me at all times. With so much horsepower you could lose anyone off the back with a slight twist of the throttle if they're hanging on to the grab rail.
I think the bike should have come with some type of "plugs" to put in the holes under the seat that are left with the grab rail removed. The holes are damn ugly!

I think I am missing the point here. Could someone tell me why you would have the grab bar on with the cowl installed??

Is it a look cool thing or what?

I notched the hump to fit over the grab rail as well. Did not like taking grab rail on & off all the time and thought hump looked like a pregnant whale sitting back there by its self. Grab bar makes it look smaller than it is. Just my opinion! Jack

Well,

I also got tired last year, of wrenching the grab rail off for cowl mounting. So, since I would not allow a passenger to use the rail for stability anyhow/I must have the rail on for aesthetics when cowl is off........I simply attached my rail to the passenger seat.

When the seat is on, the rail is on too.

NOTE: I do not recommend passenger using rail (in the attached to seat mode).

Fast_eddie the rail is not being removed to look cool but for convinence. I have my bike on LOCK DOWN in my apartment basement. I have chains and its covered etc. After disarming the aparatus and trip bombs I have for security, its quite a hassle to grab a wrench to start mounting or dismounting a grab rail.

As for passangers holding on to me, if its a girl.. ok but guys!!!???? nuff said :)

Mine doesn't ride, even think about riding, and barely knows when I leave or return to house. She sure is helpful loading it on trailer.

hmmm.

Just don't put the hand rail on... that way the chicks can hold on to you ;-) and if you're married like I am :-( , just buy your wife a bike.
