Welcome to the board. When you turn the key on do you feel it click like a relay? I can't find a picture that shows the connectors under the seat other than just wire diagrams so they don't look the same.

Welcome to the forum....

It looks like you have a Gen 2, what year is it?

Do you have a manual? It should show what that plug is for....my bike is sleeping for the winter so it's a challenge to go see for myself.

For future reference, keep the title of your thread shorter saving your question for the post.......makes it easier that way so you don't have to repeat yourself....:D

I take it you aren't the original owner....

I went out and took a look at my Gen 2 and can't see that harness anywhere so it must be normally located under the tail panel, it looks like someone was messing with it and most likely broke a wire hence why you are getting an intermittent cycle...

Like mentioned, take the tape off but I would also be removing the rear tail plastics to check the entire rear harness.....

If not, it could leave you on the side of the road somewhere.

It's the internet man. But take that tape off, it can't be OEM.

(Comment for the mods it would be really really useful to see what country a poster is in. Have never been on such a USA heavy forum before)
