Well got my new '07 Pilot Powers on and a full CLA on the bike in prep for an upcoming 2k miles road trip.

Still having an infrequent starting issue where it's running fine, I'll shut down, go to start and it's dead, but the service center can't find anything wrong

Doesn't happen much perhaps 4-5 times per year). I guess I'll have to live with it.

Been a long time since I've posted-- just wanted to give a shout out to the guys.

Cheers,

Can't complain too much except there's always too much work and too little play. Been overseas a lot the last year or so thus not poking in much. I'm back now tho to tear it up!

As for the bike-- ya, I replaced the new battery last year. The wires aren't new, but they have been cleaned, checked, and contacts sprayed, etc by Zuk and they tell me they are fine. Not too big of an issue-- just has me scratching my head on WTH is going on.

Glad to see your going strong on the board ole friend!

I have had the same issue before.

Running - stop - immediate attempt to restart - no cranking action.

Happened at the track once when I killed it trying to heat up the rear tire. The bike would not restart and
I had to back out of the lane. The bike was only 4 months old at that time. Killed it on the road a few weeks ago and it took a few seconds of holding the switch down before it would start cranking.

If this was a car motor, I'd say the starter solenoid is heat soaked. Not sure on a bike though.

2000 miles of freeway riding will do a job on a pilot power.
I just did a 7000 mile trip and used a BT021 Bridgestone. I took my pilots off and used these just for the trip. They held up great. Infact I did an 1800 mile day on the bike and although there was rubber balls just stuck everywhere on the tire it did great.

bill-- sounds like the same issue. Not sure tho about just keeping that start button depressed tho as a solution. I'll have to give it a try next time. It don't happen often tho, a half dozen times a year since I bought it, so its an annoyance more than anything.

Samurai-- ya the sensible side of me almost opted for the bt's, but my trip is 50% mountain roads with some great twisties. What the hell-- If I start eating it up, I can always get another
