My dad is a member of the Patriot Guard here in Oklahoma and he attends funerals of Veterans and active duty soldiers about 2 or 3 days a week on his Harley. Thursday he went to the airport and escorted the body of one of the soldiers that was killed at Ft Hood. Dad said there was about 25 of them and it was very emotional...

Fast forward to this morning......

The funeral was today and the Patriot Guard was riding in formation on the way to the funeral home and they passed that group of protesters from Kansas. Dad said there was about 4 of them and it just made his blood boil.... Oklahoma passed a law that says there cannot be any protest within 1/2 mile of a funeral.... Pop said the funeral was very sad because the soldier was 22 and was just married 2 months ago...

I have tons of respect for the Patriot Guard and the cause they are serving...

The Patriot Guard has made a huge impression on me. I have ridden with them on several occasions now, and usually as the only sportsbike, and it's always emotional.

If you have not done it, I recommend at least attending one of their rides.

Last Sunday we did a Veterans Appreciation ride and it was Awesome! The church that sponsored it did an amazing job, the mayor came out to speak and thank Veterans, and the people in general were grateful and kind.

A WWII, Vietnam and Korean War vet stood up and started to tell his story. He broke down to tears and the crowd followed suit. It was just an overall excellent event and something that everyone should support if they can.

As for the protestors... I can think of many things I would love to do to them. However, it goes against everything we fought for and everything the Patriot Guard stands for.

Yeah...Three cheers for the Patriot Guard. :beerchug:

I don't know how you can do that and not be emotional every time. Is it possible?

Very sad indeed. RIP to the soldiers.

I'm on the PGR mailing list. I will be attending them when after I'm riding again.

If i was escorting a friend, or worse...family, and i saw that, they all would die. no questions asked no fussing and i will rott in prison for the rest of my life, head high, with the knowledge that i did not get let some @$$hat disgrace my loved ones funeral.

I thought about this because i watched Taking Chance and had a dream that i was escorting my wife.... needless to say, that ruined my day.

Props for the Patriot Guards.

How can anyone protest anything when one of our own is being laid to rest fighting for us? Sometimes I just don't understand what these people are thinking. I'll leave it at that.

That group from Kansas has made a name for themselves in this part of the country. They protest funerals in the Kansas City area too and when they show up here its usually a bigger group. What a bunch of scum!

Here is their site. They come up here to protest too.
The head a$$holes daughter
stepped on an American flag in front of her son so the
county attorney charged her with contributing to the deliquency of a minor.

I wonder why someone hasn't killed one of these people yet.
You would think that someone would blow their stack and
take a few of them out.

here is the deal on them.

They are not protesting for the reasons they claim.

They are trying to anger LE and others so someone will do something which can bring a lawsuit and they can profit from it.

This is the only way they can make money.

They are bottom feeders ... they give bottom feeders a bad name.
