On the Gen 3 there are plastic pieces that sit underneath the tank. They are embossed with an arrow or diamond design.
Does anyone know if these are available on the aftermarket?
Possible a carbon fibre effect?

I was just looking at CF vinyl wraps. That might be a good alternative although I think Suzuki made excellent aesthetic choices as usual. I'd probably go with a wrap that didn't try too hard to mimic the look of carbon fiber if you're actually going to have real carbon fiber parts on the bike. I haven't actually sampled any yet but so far, looks like your run of the mill CF vinyl is probably going to be a colored print with a high gloss finish that tries as hard as possible to look like CF. The weave of real CF reacts dynamically to light whereas the prints are just a picture of carbon fiber. It's kind of not going work with a set of real CF wheels. I think the basic 3D wraps with stairway pattern texture are best if you need to combine the scheme with real CF. Therein lies the tasteful choice of the arrow pattern plastic frame cover the Hayabusa has stock, it doesn't try to look like CF and if you want to combine it with real CF, it works. Fortunately, we have a real aftermarket CF frame cover but for me, the difference in weight between CF and plastic is nominal. The only reason I'd replace plastic with CF is for the look in which case, nothing but real CF will look correct.
