Just wondering how likely this is to happen. Think I'll check mine none-the-less.

I had the nut on the bottom of my clutch handle come off. The bolt was also backing out also. I happend to notice it in the middle of a ride, its a good thing I didn't loose the bolt and clutch handle that would have been a disaster..

Happened to Lamb! Loctite and some elbow grease! Seems to be an '05 thing!

I have an '05 and after reading how it happened to others, I made sure mine was tight. Better safe than sorry (that's also why I never bought a Kawasaki. Not because they are unsafe, but because they're sorry

yup...it can happen to anyone on ANY bike....who doesn't regularly maintain and do a pre-check prior to flight.

to think that this is 'busa related' is plain rediculous

Just about every 05 that I've seen has had it happen

Pay particular attention if you have Buell pegs installed! When you lower the shifter to compensate the rear lock nut (#33) is really tough to get at so I took an old 10mm box end and ground out just enough to allow it to slip over the rod and now I have a 12 point (more like 9 now that I ground out a few of them) that will work on it without pulling the shift linkage off the shaft to lock it down.

So I assume it's either 33 or 36 that's unscrews itself. In any case everything looked tight on mine. Why would this problem happen more frequently on 05's ?
