My brother and I were talking about an accident that happened here recently and I thought I would share it.A high school student and her friend went out a few weeks ago to get some pictures developed from their homecoming the night before. Her friend(the passenger)was voted homecoming queen. They were sitting at a red light in town when a mustang suddenly smashed into them knocking them 300 feet. The car burst into flames killing the passenger who was voted homecoming queen the night before and the other girl was pulled from the car but not before being badly burned. We later learned that the driver of the mustang was a 17 year old kid who was running from the law because he didnt want a ticket for doing a burnout. They estimated his speed in excess of 140 and he was running nitrous. He has been charged with 2nd degree murder with intent along with a slew of other charges.I just think it is such a waste of lives all around over a stupid ticket.I hope we all remember this each time we twist the throttle and be extra careful of the times we choose to open 'em up a little.I dont think i could live with myself if I hurt someone out of my sheer stupidity.

I'm more than a little ashamed to admit that while I think about it before/during now, in my younger days I never even considered the consequences until it was over. I am very lucky not to have been in that kid's situation, Lord knows I have done more than my share of stupid things........
May the girl who passed rest in peace, and the injured girl have a speedy recovery.

I hear ya Gunslinger...I got to witness a rather ugly scene take place before my eye's a few weeks ago...I was at work and I heard a couple motorcycles screaming down the road towards an intersection in front of my work...when I heard the bikes coming I already knew their speed was way to fast for this area ...just past the intersection is a large auto mall with all kinds of idiots pull'in in and out all day buying new cars.

As the bikes roared by I thought to myself "my God, they must be doing 120mph"...moments later, someone more interested in a new car to buy pulls out and one of the guy's on the bike try's to make it around, go's off the side of the road and struck a telephone pole...Killed instantly...when I went home that night there was already a cross next to the pole...It can sure happen fast.

Senseless...kids just don't realize...I did some stupid things when I was 16-17 years old too; lucky it never hurt anyone...
