Yes, it's sad when people commit slow suicide by smoking, I've always noticed that the majority of smokers are so addicted that they are in denial that the chemicals and tar is the cause of the cancer . . now THAT is sad . . .Sad to hear. RIP. Interesting that he attributed his cancer to the metal pick that he continually put in his mouth.
Could have been that I 'spose...but I'm guessing all the smoking played a part too. He prolly started young.......Sad to hear. RIP. Interesting that he attributed his cancer to the metal pick that he continually put in his mouth.
How about all the amalgam fillings in our teeth with mercury vapor constantly leaching into our throat, lungs, and blood stream?Could have been that I 'spose...but I'm guessing all the smoking played a part too. He prolly started young.......

maybe never stopped. IDK.
Rubb.
It's weird because I've never had a hot start issue on my '99 Busa in the 6 years I've had it . . but so many have had that problem, I guess it's the luck of the draw.If Eddie did the same tinkering on Hayabusas he would have solved the hot-start issues a long time ago.
Man...you know a lot about just about everything. You should consider writing a book or 2.Many here remind me of Eddie Van Halen. He took something that did not work for him and fearlessly tinkered with it until it did exactly what he wanted, just like members here do with their bikes.
One of the coolest things Van Halen did is related to tuning. Imagine the tuning peg of a guitar. Turn the peg to tighten the string and the string winds around the stalk. An inadvertent effect of this action is that it exerts a rotational stress on the string. That destabilizes the string and has a detrimental effect on the tuning. He figured this out and at the opposite end, at the bridge, he rotated the string in the direction that relieves the strain created at the tuning end. This technique allowed him to use a standard tremelo, aggressively attack the strings, but still maintain excellent tuning.
Here is a guy installing Eddie's patented de-tuning device to see if it works on a 7-string guitar (it does!). That is pretty impressive to completely change the tuning of a guitar and require only minor tuning afterwards. This demonstrates Eddie's solid knowledge about the instrument:
