Reroute choke cable?

Ok, total  

here.  I installed 1'' self made risers and now when i turn hard right I shoot up rpms, I took the cable out of that little hook and I'm still doing same thing.  Now, question is I thought i would ask if anyone has any pics on how to reroute the cable underneath air box, which is how i see everyone doing it.  If someone has some pics posted hook me up with linky plz, later and thanks all!

Here's one possibility.

Most guys just reroute it on top between the bolts that hold down the fuel tank. That should give you enough for 1" riser.

So do i have to disconnect the choke cable to reroute, or can i just move it over after i lift tank?

Undo it and reroute on the other side of the steering head.

ok, .... another question... what is the steering head? Do you mean the handlebars? Just checking to make sure it isnt something thats located at the end of the choke line.

For a 1" riser, there should be enough cable that all you need to do is adjust it at the grip end to get the slack you need.

Ahh, was thinking of trying to adjust it underneath the tank where the linkage is. But yeah was thinking of trying to adjust it, it only goes up 500rpm when steering is turned all way to left.

Hm.. ok, decided against adjusting it at lever and was just going to reroute it, what do you do with all the extra slack when you set it under the tank? There is alot of extra under there and running it along the side causes it to stick out, do you just run all the extra on top of the air box? maybe someone can hook me up with a pic with there tank up and how they got it routed, sorry for the big time difference inbetween post, can only work on bike as i get time... (what i mean is as wife permits). lol sunday is supposed to be her day.

instead of the fast idle cable running around the steering head, you need to disconnect it from the lever and route it around the left side between the 2 tank bolts... you see it here in this pic of mine between the 2 tank bolts. It used to run around the steering head where the other black cables are just to the right of it.

Yeah i know i need to run it through the bolts on tank, but what do you do with all the extra slack that is underneath the tank? just lay it on top of the air box? There is way to much slack to just run it along the edges and come up along the tank and underneath the bolts like i was planning.

Ok, I guess i was just getting to techincal, i just forced it to fit on top of air box, smashed down tank and bolted it down.  Since i messed with the adjustment it idles at 1800 which i dont think it will hurt, after all its just fast idle for start up.

Thanks for all links and info, just was overparticular on how to get the rid of the extra slack from rerouting the idle line. Much appreciated!!
