Anyone using Headlights & Fog Lights

Also on Gen 1 correct size bulbs are H7 & H9?

I have used xenon and other bulbs before, just not from the above mentioned.

Any idea of the 100w wil run too hot?

Thanks - K Moto

H-7 Low beam

9005 High beam

I've used 100w bulbs on other closed systems and never had any issues with overheating but YMMV...

YES you WILL have issues with sockets and wiring melting. I've seen 75 watt bulbs melt things.

Sounds like a good time to go HID.

Yes the socket will melt. The person I purchased my bike from had installed a higher wattage bulb and it had started to melt the socket. Luckily the bulb burnt out before serious damage had been done.

Given the problems with melting, anybody know what wattage is safe, or is a direct replacement/wattage the only option. I would like to upgrade my lights to but HID is out of the question atm.

Just a thought but if they are like the SilverStars you may want to keep a couple extras on hand. I have always heard that they burn out quickly. Just something to consider.
