I have been reading a few posts about trying to do 250mph+ on a normal busa (i mean a turbo busa with fairing) i remember reading about some russian scientist (anatoly Klimov) who found a way to cut aero drag by ionising the air in front of a sphere and they measured a 30% reduction of drag. it has to do with plasma, plasma acts differently that normal air so you get a reduction in drag, they used high voltage to ionise the air which sort of pushes the air away from the object but there is no drag because there is nothing for it to rub on, they also used a microwave upstream of a model aircaft to do the same job. i am not sure if it will work on subsonic vehicles but they said it might. i just thought you guys would be interested, i will have ago myself when i have the money. but who knows maybe you could brake some records.

heres a link to some more info

Shadowchaser -

I have a friend of mine who is pretty awesome in physics. He has actually worked with plasma and telsa coils..

Actually created plasma in his garage few a few seconds until he blew all the fuses in his house..

We were thinking about trying to get more electricity, but figured a large power surge in a residential area might have alerted the wrong people for the wrong reasons... so we stopped.

Anyway, I will send this to him and see if he has any input..

MMMMM.... Tesla, he was the man... Now if we could just get the US government to De-Classify a lot of his work we would be in the house.... Yeah, betcha didn't know the US Government classified a crap load of his work just before and immediatly after his death. Siezed property, books, equipment. On and on...

Lets here it for a man that turned the PLANET into a capacitor, sent a pulse of energy through the Earth, reflected it off the opposite side and upon it's return to the Colorado Springs area caused the ground to glow... YEAH... Good stuff...

Ok, I got a reply back from my friend,

As always when he explains something I always think to myself.. "oh yeah, no kidding"

So I read his email and his input and I thought to myself.. "yep, he has a point"

It is the ol' cause and affect issue rearing its ugly head again

Here is what my friends said

" heh, that was exactly the same thing I was messing with a few years ago. The only problem is its nearly impossible to generate that much voltage on a bike, and even if you could, the associated drag from the weight of your amplifiers and the drag from the alternators would surely negate any gain from the plasma field."

To Revlis yeah i read some stuff about tesla he really is the man, i think most of the classified stuff is to do with a weapon he said he had made but he never told anyone much about and after he died the ransacked his house to find info but i dont think they found any. but the russians have completed his work as they have made them for themselfs, scalar waves is what it is meant to be about.

To thrasherfox yes i think the equipment would be quite heavy and like you said would most likely negate the benefit you would get. also the russians have built a system that can be fittet to most russian fighters which not only reduces drag but also makes the invisible to radar and that weighed 100kg, i think it was a microwave system that they were talking about.

thanks for your input guys
