is it easier to lift the bike up on the stand by yourself with a short handled rear stand or a longer handled one. i purchased the shorter handled one because the salesman said it would be a shorter reach and eaisier to opperate by myself. i can always exchange it for the longer suzuki race stand with a longer handle if that one would be better?

here is a pic of the shorter one i purchased yesterday.

thanks for any info given.

I think the longer one is better... Got a short one myself and ended up dumping the bike a couple years back because I couldn't tell that I slightly missed the post that was further away from me... The bike went straight up and straight over...

A longer handle will give you more leverage, making it easier to push the stand down to raise the bike.

That said, I always put mine up on the rear stand by myself. I will either hang on to the grab bar - or if I have the hump on, remove it and hold on to the crossbrace under the hump - to steady the bike. Ensure that the stand has engaged the 'ears' onto the spools and then push down on the stand while pulling the bike rear-ward...it pops right up on the stand!

Simple math tells you the LONGER the handle, the EASIER it is to lift
