Re-Packing Yoshimura Pipe

I've got about 10K on the pipe. About 1K miles ago I shortened it for deeper and louder sound. I started thinking, maybe I should have re-packed it while it was apart? I love the deep sound of it, but wouldn't mind it being a little quieter.

What's the best thing to use to re-pack it with??

I would like to make my carbon tri oval yosh quieter.  How long does the factory packing last?   I wish I could make it sound like the stock pipes and keep the carbon looks.

anyone repack one to make it quiet?
