My Busa gives out loud rattling sound in 6th when pulling from 3000 to 4000RPM. Isn't that loud in mode B and C or in lower gears. Looks like it gets worse with load. The bike is 350miles old and all stock. My mechanic and I think its coming from somewhere behind the engine or front sprocket area. It really resembles knocking or predetonation. I even swap back to standard exhaust system. Still the same. No difference as compared to the slip ons.

Anyone has any ideas or have seen this before? Is this normal? :please:

At 3k RPM, the bike runs about 50-55mph. So, its cruising speed on 6th gear. Its just that the noise will start to appear when u start to accelerate from there. Heard the same noise right there?

You should keep the rpm's higher when breaking in a new engine

If the engine is lugging and pinging at the lower rpm's...downshift and keep the rpm's above 4000 :poke:

Try a tank of higher octane fuel and see if it goes away. If you are already using 93 there is not much else you can do except add booster or get some race gas.

I would make sure you dont do that any more than possible. As stated it can damage the crank or bearings or worse.

I got a full tank of ron 97 gas in it and has been on it for the last 50mi. No difference. Anyone can verify with their bike, if this is normal?:please:

I run 91, but I don't cruise around a 3k in SIXTH gear :beerchug:

@50-55 mph try 4th gear and see if it does it

Break in the motor, but dont lug it! Rpm's are your friend! Try another fuel station too!

overloading the engine, it goes 90mph in first gear you really have no reason to get into 6th unless you going relatively fast. keep it in the first three gears when going under 100mph...

also, if you leave it in lower gears at speed you will avoid the hand numbing vibrations that is common on the gen 2... and yes 65 mph in third is fine try it...

:rofl:3k in 6th gear, you would think the engine would stall. I usally shift from 1st to 2nd at 3k.
The best way to shift is listen and hear the revs of the engine when shifting. Your busa will talk back to you if you just shift her right, honest.
You really ought to have better communication with you busa, if you abuse her she will leave you.

It actually rattles all the way to 8k and it does it in all gears. 3-4k at 6th is where it does loudest. So, I just seeking help to understand this abnormality so that I can correct it. ???
